Terms of Use

Pass the Phone is a free party game app for Android, made by webstei. By installing and using it you agree to what is written here. It is short because the app is simple: it runs entirely on your phone and there is no account, no subscription and no service behind it.
The app is free
There is nothing to buy inside Pass the Phone, no subscription, and no paid content. If that ever changes, it will be stated clearly on the store listing before you install an update that includes it.
What you may do with it
Install it on your devices and play it with whoever you like, including at events, in a classroom or anywhere else people are sitting together. You may not resell it, repackage it, or distribute modified copies of it.
Play sensibly
The games ask people to perform, confess small things and tease each other. That only works with people who want to be teased.
Anybody may pass on any card at any time, and no round is worth insisting. Dares in this app are deliberately silly rather than risky - none of them asks you to leave the room, climb on anything, touch another person or do anything dangerous. If a card ever feels wrong for the people in front of you, skip it.
The prizes are not real
Some games display amounts of money - a suitcase with a million in it, a pot to split or steal. None of this is real, none of it can be won, and none of it can be exchanged for anything. They are stakes in a bluffing game and nothing more. Pass the Phone contains no gambling, no wagering and no real or virtual currency of any kind.
What you write and draw
Some games ask you to type an answer or draw a picture. That content stays on the device it was made on, is never uploaded anywhere, and is discarded when the round ends. You are responsible for what you write and draw in front of the people you are playing with.
Content in the app
The questions, prompts, locations, dares and word lists are written for this app and are intended as entertainment. Some of them are deliberately absurd and none of them should be taken as fact or as advice about anything.
No warranty
Pass the Phone is provided as it is, without any warranty of any kind. It is a party game. We do not promise it is free of bugs, that it will suit every group, or that it will keep working on every future version of Android. To the fullest extent the law allows, webstei is not liable for any loss or damage arising from using it - including any argument you have as a result of playing it.
Your device data
Names, saved groups, play counts and past results are stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes them permanently, and there is no backup and no way for us to restore them. See the privacy policy for the full list.
Age
Pass the Phone is intended for teenagers and adults. It is not designed for or directed at children under 13.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the updated version.
